Do you have your wires in a tangle?

This is what a TELUS installation of a new optical network terminal (ONT) can look like. This rat’s nest of wires makes for more electromagnetic interference! You don’t need that.

Electrical codes in North America usually require a minimum separation of 2” (50 mm) between communications cables and standard power cables in residential wiring. trueCABLE best practices for safe wiring and data integrity recommend that unshielded communications cables are separated from power cables by 8” (100 mm) and shielded (and bonded) communications cables by 2” (50 mm). If these two types of cables must cross, they should cross at right angles and not physically touch each other.
